Historische Binnenstad
(Paramaribo): Uniek stadscentrum met houten koloniale architectuur, sinds 2002 UNESCO Werelderfgoed. Wandel langs de Waterkant, Henck Arronstraat, het Onafhankelijkheidsplein en bewonder monumentale panden, kerken, moskeeën en synagogen.
Fort Zeelandia
17e-eeuws Nederlands fort, nu Surinaams Museum. Belangrijk voor de koloniale geschiedenis en bekend door de Decembermoorden. Bezoek de cellen, het museum en geniet van het uitzicht op de Surinamerivier.
Waterkant
(Paramaribo): De oudste straat van de stad, met karakteristieke houten huizen, eetstalletjes en uitzicht op de rivier. Populaire plek voor locals en toeristen, vooral bij zonsondergang.
Onafhankelijkheidsplein
(Paramaribo): Omringd door het Presidentieel Paleis, het Ministerie van Financiën en het Huis Du Plessis. Op zondagochtend zijn hier vogelzangwedstrijden te bewonderen.
Palmentuin
(Paramaribo): Historisch stadspark achter het Presidentieel Paleis, met honderden koningspalmen, wandelpaden . Ideaal voor een rustmoment in de stad.
Centrale Markt
(Paramaribo): Kleurrijke overdekte markt aan de Waterkant, waar je lokale producten, kruiden, groenten en Surinaamse snacks kunt kopen.
Moskee Keizerstraat & Synagoge Neve Shalom
(Paramaribo): Uniek in de wereld: een moskee en synagoge naast elkaar, symbool van religieuze tolerantie.
Readytex Art Gallery
(Paramaribo): Moderne kunstgalerie met werk van Surinaamse kunstenaars, verspreid over meerdere verdiepingen.
Rumhuis
(Paramaribo): Museum en proeverij gewijd aan Surinaamse rum, met rondleidingen en degustaties.
Neotropical Butterfly Park
(Paramaribo): Vlinderpark met tropische vlinders, educatieve rondleidingen en uitleg over vlinderkweek.
Paramaribo Zoo
(Paramaribo): Kleine dierentuin met lokale diersoorten, ideaal voor gezinnen.
Wakapasi (paramaribo)
De Wakapasi (Surinaams voor looppad), voluit Wakapasi Craft & More, zijn twee promenades tussen de Palmentuin en de Van Roseveltkade in Paramaribo.
Hierlangs staan 24 cabana’s opgesteld, oftewel huisjes waarin standhouders eten, drinken en ambachtelijke producten uit Suriname aanbieden.
Er is een selectie gemaakt uit een groot aantal standhouders, waarmee de variatie in het aanbod wordt bewaakt
Natuurparken, Reservaten en Watervallen
Brownsberg Natuurpark – Brokopondo
Brownsberg is een paradijs voor natuurliefhebbers en wandelaars. De wandelingen variëren van eenvoudig tot uitdagend, en onderweg kun je apen, exotische vogels en soms zelfs katachtigen spotten. Het park is het hele jaar door toegankelijk, maar de paden kunnen in het regenseizoen modderig zijn. Overnachten kan in eenvoudige lodges of hangmatten.
Brownsberg Natuurpark
12.000 hectare regenwoud op een plateau van 500 meter hoogte. Beroemd om de wandelroutes naar de Leo- en Irenevallen, het panoramische uitzicht vanaf het Mazaroni Plateau over het Brokopondostuwmeer, en de rijke biodiversiteit (apen, vogels, reptielen).
Leovallen & Irenevallen
Twee schilderachtige watervallen in het Brownsbergpark, bereikbaar via avontuurlijke wandelpaden. Ideaal om te zwemmen en af te koelen na een hike.
Mazaroni Plateau
Uitzichtpunt op 500 meter hoogte met spectaculair zicht over het regenwoud en het stuwmeer
